COVID-19 UPDATE

Update from Dawn Marling,  Township of Hopewell Health Officer

Although local case rates remain relatively low, they have again increased during the past 2 weeks. Additionally, the Statewide transmission rate has gone back above 1 and the regional CALI score has not substantially improved. The next week will be important, to assess whether Halloween festivities and potential travel/gatherings during the school break will lead to a resurgence of cases.

A Moderna vaccine booster clinic was held on Nov. 4th at the Hopewell Elementary School and 179 booster doses were administered. A survey sent to Hopewell Valley seniors showed very low interest in the Janssen/J&J booster. Discussions are ongoing to hold another Moderna clinic at the Senior Center. The State has offered vendor support to help run a pediatric clinic in partnership with HVRSD, however no date has yet been secured. Meanwhile, local pediatricians offices have secured thousands of doses and Mercer County is holding frequent pop-up clinics each week.
